Our Story
Tannit is a homegrown, India based enterprise specializing in high quality handmade leather products. We are a brand that represents a timeless and classic sense of style that is minimalistic and yet, rates high on the utility scale.
We coined ourselves "Tannit" as a derivation from the words "Tanning" (the process by which a skin/hide is tanned) and "Tannin" (the substances used in the tanning process to prevent the breakdown of the fibres of the leather). All the leather used to make our products is a by-product of the meat and dairy industry.
What sets us apart
Our leather sourcing process involves several levels of careful treatment of raw materials and quality inspection that ensures that we are able to derive the right texture and colour for each of our products.
The "karigars" (craftsmen) we work with, then put in a great deal of care, diligence and detail to bring to you the finest handmade leather pieces.
